Butterflies
One interesting thing Sydney has been doing at school is learning about butterflies. Apparently they have a container of some sort that they put some caterpillars in. The kids have watched the caterpillars eat, spin cocoons, and turn into butterflies. While this has been happening, they've discussed...

Fell on her face but wouldn't tell anyone how
This has been awhile back but is probably worth posting. A few months back, Meghan picked up Sydney and one of the teachers explained that they didn't know what happened, but earlier in the day Sydney had a big mark on her face. For some reason, no one saw it, and Sydney didn't know where it came fr...

Random Updates
Sydney's Puh One update we forgot to make was with respect to Sydney's "puh" aka pacifier. She gave it up back in either late January or early February. She hadn't been using one at nap time for a very long time but was taking little breaks in her room by herself to suck on it any time she got upse...

Making Cookies
Tonight Sydney and I made chocolate chip M&M cookies, and they didn't turn out half bad. Meghan had a happy hour tonight so I needed to come up with a good Daddy/Daughter activity. I figured we would go to dinner after school and if that didn't work out, we'd just make some cookies. In the end, we d...

A little weekend excitement
Shelf Fell off Sydney's wall It was either Thursday night, Friday night, or Saturday morning but at some point, Meghan did some re-arranging of Sydney's room. One thing she attempted to do was to put a few kids books on the shelf that used to hold all of Sydney's stuffed animals (before they had to...

Spontaneous Bathroom Emergency
The other night, Sydney and Meghan were sitting on the couch. Suddenly, Sydney got very serious. "Mommy, I have a problem." At that point she begins kicking her leg. Meghan: "Ok... what's wrong" Sydney with panic in her voice: "I have to go poop super bad." Meghan: "Ok. Go to the bathroom." Sydney t...

Re: Some kids have monsters under the bed....
As an update to this saga, several weeks back, Sydney asked us to get rid of all the stuffed animals on the shelf over her bed. Apparently they were scary at night as well.
They are all currently living in the basement.

Getting bigger and bigger and bigger
Sydney always tells us that she's getting bigger and bigger and bigger... When we went to the doctor's office over the weekend (bad cold) she was 38" tall and weighed 35lbs. They other day she was wearing some new 4T jammies and was stretching. When she reached up, much of her belly hung out. Lookin...

New Contraction
Sydney invented a new contraction the other night. I don't recall exactly what she said but it started out "I amn't...". It might have been - "I amn't going to take a bath." She meant "I am not".
It makes sense if you think "He isn't".
I never know what's going to come out of her mouth next.

Nervous Tummy
So last night, Sydney pulled a new one on us. Our plan was to go to my company Christmas party. Mary, Emily, and Kendall were going to come over to watch/play with Sydney while we were gone. We had explained this all to Sydney in advance, and she was on board but clearly not happy that we were leavi...
