New Baby Talk

Welcome to my sub-forum for pretty much anything else. When I’m no longer sequestered by the bounds of institutional education, I find myself free to plot my diabolical schemes for world conquest. As they arise, I’ll post any thoughts I have here for the consumption of you my loyal subjects.

New Baby Talk

Post by mightymulhern »

We haven't mentioned the baby talk for awhile. It's changed again.

Lately we hear a lot of "Der Der Der" and "Der Dee Der Dee Der". There's also some "Duh Duh Duh" in the "Der Dee Der" but it's not even remotely directed toward me so it's not Da Da or anything like that.

Sometimes her tone when doing the "Der Der" goes into the interrogative (like asking a question) on the last Der.

Sydney is also making some sound that I can't put into phonetic English. I don't know if I'm not hearing it or if it doesn't exist in the language. I just know that she does it a lot, I keep listening, and I keep not being able to identify or replicate the sound. For that matter I can't even really describe it. It has me perplexed.

Previously we reported Sydney blowing raspberries. She doesn't really do that any more but now leaves her lips loose making more of a sound like a horse. ...and occasionally spitting everywhere in the process.

Lately we've also gotten into some squealing matches where she squeals, we squeal back in response, and we keep going back and forth. I guess you have to be there.

Sydney has also recently entered a blowing phase where she purses her lips together and give a long blowing exhale seemingly at random. Later I noticed that I do the same thing. So between that and Meghan's random "shiver", she seems to have picked up both of our quirks. :)
